It’s been more than two decades since the family-friendly Toyota Highlander SUV first debuted. Now, Toyota is building on the popularity of the three-row SUV’s model name and introducing an all-new, larger option, the Toyota Grand Highlander. While not expected to join the new vehicle inventory at Toyota of Kent until 2024, we recently saw a sneak peek of this upcoming model, and we’re excited to share some anticipated details with you now.

The planned 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander will take everything that Stow and Cuyahoga Falls drivers know and love about the original Highlander SUV, and super sizes it. The result is a larger model that has 5.5 inches more legroom in the third row than the original model, a cargo hold that grows from 16 cubic feet to 20.6 cubic feet, and extra headroom throughout the vehicle.

Under the hood of the Grand Highlander, longtime Highlander fans will find familiar powertrain options, including the original SUV’s gas and hybrid engines. But this model also offers a third option that you won’t find on the traditional Highlander – a turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid engine that Toyota calls the Hybrid Max. It comes with standard all-wheel drive and produces 362 horsepower.
