The 2025 Toyota Tundra enters the new model year with a robust twin-turbo engine and a bold attitude to match. Whether you’re commuting through the city or taking on the great outdoors, this full-size pickup is engineered for versatility, style, and strength.
A Look at the Lineup’s Mechanics
The base-model SR proudly houses a 3.4-liter i-FORCE six-cylinder twin-turbo engine capable of producing 406 lb-ft of torque at 2,000 RPM and 358 horsepower at 5,200 RPM. Hybrid models generate power from a 3.4-liter i-FORCE hybrid engine that delivers 583 lb-ft of torque at 2,400 RPM and 437 horsepower at 5,200 RPM. Every trim in this year’s lineup features a 24-valve DOHC valvetrain with intelligent dual variable valve timing, fine-tuned for optimal performance, no matter where your adventures take you.
The Tundra SR comes with rear-wheel drive and a 10-speed automatic electronically controlled transmission with intelligence. The transmission includes helpful features such as uphill and downhill shift logic and a sequential shift mode, providing precise gearshifts with minimal strain on the brakes and improved fuel economy. The SR’s rear-wheel drivetrain comes equipped with an automatic limited-slip differential, while four-wheel-drive trims feature a 4WDemand part-time system with an automatic limited-slip differential and an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case.
Towing Capacities
The SR trim’s options all offer 8,300 pounds of maximum towing capacity, while the SR5 leads the lineup with an impressive 12,000 pounds. The Limited variants can tow up to 11,350 pounds, and the Limited i-FORCE MAX models are capable of up to 11,450 pounds.
The Platinum and 1794 Edition trims each offer 11,310 pounds of towing power, while the Platinum i-FORCE MAX and 1794 Edition i-FORCE MAX increase the number to 11,380 pounds. The TRD Pro delivers 11,175 pounds, and the Capstone can tow up to 10,340 pounds.
Interior Setup and Technology
The five-occupant seating arrangement is laid out with two fabric-trimmed front seats and a three-person rear bench split 60/40 with fold-down seatbacks. The base model includes a Smart Key system, a rearview mirror with day and night modes, a 4.2-inch instrument cluster, and an overhead console with a Safety Connect emergency-assistance button.
All models this year are equipped with Connected Services, including Wi-Fi, Drive, and Remote features.
