The 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid makes its debut this year, bringing an ideal blend of luxury, style, power, and efficiency to the mid-size SUV market. It offers drivers an array of choices with 4 available trim levels featuring two hybrid engines and impressive standard and optional features.
1. XLE
With standard equipment like 18-inch silver-painted wheels, a power liftgate, and a Smart Key System that recognizes your key when it’s nearby, you might not guess that the XLE is the Grand Highlander Hybrid’s entry-level trim. This model achieves its EPA-estimated 36 MPG combined fuel efficiency with a 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain that produces 245 combined net horsepower. An electronically controlled CVT further optimizes fuel efficiency, and Drive Mode Select lets you choose from driving modes like Sport and Eco.
SofTex-trimmed seats accommodate 7 passengers, but you can also choose a second-row bench for 8-passenger seating. Front-row seats are heated, and second-row passengers get retractable window sunshades to keep out unwanted light. The XLE’s 6-speaker audio system is controlled using a 12.3-inch touchscreen, which connects to your compatible smartphone using wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The XLE also keeps your family safe with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0’s 7 driver assistance features.
2. Limited
The Limited averages 34 MPG combined with standard Electronic On-Demand AWD, which responds to changing road conditions by providing power to the rear wheels. The Limited also receives upgrades like 20-inch silver wheels, leather-trimmed seats, ventilated front seats, and an 11-speaker JBL Premium Audio system. Convenience features include rain-sensing windshield wipers and a foot-activated power liftgate that gives you hands-free access to the cargo area.
3. MAX Limited
This model gets the Grand Highlander Hybrid’s Hybrid MAX engine, a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine that produces a combined 362 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque while averaging 27 MPG combined. It comes with Full-Time Electronic All-Wheel Drive and Multi-Terrain Select with modes like MUD & SAND and ROCK & DIRT to help you navigate tricky terrain. This model also gets a Direct Shift 6-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters for more convenient shifts.
Available only in a 7-passenger seating configuration, the MAX Limited’s seats are trimmed in leather with Ultrasuede, and its cabin features black geometric-pattern and bronze trim. Outside, it has 20-inch two-tone wheels and silver-painted lower bumpers.
4. MAX Platinum
When you choose the MAX Platinum, you’ll get even more comfort features, like heated and ventilated second-row seats and a panoramic roof that gives everyone a view of the sky. This model also includes several tech and driver assistance features, like a Panoramic View Monitor. This feature uses 4 cameras to provide a virtual 360-degree view of your surroundings, making parking easier than ever.
